Tips for Better Scans
- Scan regularly. Your collection changes! Re-scan every few weeks or after catching a lot of new Pokemon.
- Make sure moves are visible. Some scans miss moves if you don't scroll to show them. Check that your exported data includes move information.
- Check for errors. Scanners aren't perfect. If a result looks wrong (e.g., impossible IVs), re-scan that Pokemon manually.
- Use good lighting. Screen-reading scanners work better when your screen is bright and clear.
- Close other overlays. Other apps with screen overlays can interfere with scanning.
Troubleshooting
The scanner isn't reading my Pokemon correctly
Try these fixes:
- Make sure your screen brightness is turned up
- Disable any blue light filters or night mode
- Close other apps with overlays
- Try scanning from the Pokemon's detail screen, not the list
- Make sure the app is updated to the latest version
I can't find the export option
Calcy IV: Menu → History → Share/Export icon → CSV
Poke Genie: You need a Premium subscription. Once subscribed, go to your Pokemon list and tap the export icon.
The CSV file is empty or has no Pokemon
Make sure you've actually scanned Pokemon before exporting. Open the app's Pokemon list to verify your scans were saved. If the list is empty, you need to scan your Pokemon first.
PoGO Tools says "Unknown CSV format"
This usually means the CSV wasn't exported correctly. Make sure you:
- Exported as CSV (not Excel, JSON, or other formats)
- Used the official export function, not a screenshot or copy-paste
- The file has the .csv extension
If you're still having trouble, let us know and include what app you're using.
